Pupils are required:

  • To keep their lesson appointments as far as possible (see cancellation policy below)
  • To bring their Learner Permit (& EDT or IBT Log Book if applicable) to lessons, a LEGAL REQUIREMENT for driving on the public road.
  • To pay for lessons in FULL and in ADVANCE (see payment policy)
  • To be fit to drive (not under influence of alcohol, medication, drugs or overly tired)
  • To turn off mobile phones during lessons
  • To study relevant sections of Rules of the Road, EDT or IBT booklet before lessons
  • To get driving practice with their Sponsor if possible

 

PAYMENT  POLICY

 

GDL Drivers offers Learner Drivers and Riders competitive rates and value for money. Rates are as follows:

 

Pay-As-You-Go Car

1 x 1 hour lesson                € 40

 

Payments for PAYG lessons must be made IN FULL and at the beginning of each lesson or the lesson may not proceed.

 

Pre-paid block lesson discount:

5 x 1 hour lessons               €180          Save  € 20

10 x 1 hour lessons             €340          Save  € 60

 

Essential Driver Training    €400.    Save €20

(12 lesson mandatory course includes RSA Log Book)

 

Discount rates apply ONLY to blocks of lessons which have been PRE-PAID. Pupils will be reminded at their last lesson that the block is finished. The ADI and pupil will agree on the amount and rate of any further lessons needed so payment can be made prior to the next lesson or lesson block.

 

School Car Hire for Driving Test          € 80

 

A minimum of 2 hours is required for the pre-test lesson and the Driving Test. The school car may be booked by Learners who have taken at least TWO previous lessons in the school car within the last 3 months.

 

  • Payments may be made by Online, Cash, Cheque, Bank Draft or Postal Order.
  • Receipts are issued for all Pre-paid lessons
  • Please do not ask for credit as refusal may cause embarrassment.

CANCELLATION POLICY

 

GDL Drivers is committed to providing a professional, reliable and punctual service to all pupils.

 

GDL Drivers will not ask pupils to change their lesson date or time except for illness, vehicle breakdown or legitimate unforeseen circumstances. An alternative date and time will be offered to suit the pupil as soon as possible.

 

Pupils should try not to change the date and time of their booked lessons – however, when this is unavoidable, they should contact GDL Drivers immediately (preferably by phonecall or text) to postpone and to reschedule their lesson, giving  alternative dates and times if possible.

 

Frequent and late cancellations (less than 24 hours) and rearrangements are time-consuming and inconvenient to everyone concerned. A cancellation fee of €20 will apply – this may be paid online here

 

In the case of a pupil wishing to cancel a block of pre-paid lessons (due to re-locating or accident or illness), GDL Drivers will refund the full amount less the cost of the next booked lesson.

 

COMPLAINTS

 

GDL Drivers endeavors to provide complete customer satisfaction by giving professional, friendly and courteous service and tuition.

 

We invite pupils to ask questions and give feedback informally at the end of each lesson. We also encourage them to fill in a satisfaction survey anonymously from time to time. By doing so, GDL Drivers can monitor service and how it may be improved.

 

Constructive criticism is welcomed and pupils having any complaint may ring, ask for an appointment or email. Their complaint will be answered promptly and politely. If a pupil is not satisfied with the response to the complaint they may contact the RSA for further information.
